Gasrag
Sets Lower Haight on Fire
Many
were rocked, none were injured
The return
of the infamous "Come as Your Favorite/Least Favortie
Rockstar Party" to San Francisco's historic Peacock
Lougne set many new records. Mostly for poor grooming,
bad behavior, and an indescriminate disregard for the city's many
fire and safety regulations.

All
the same, the gang managed to pull off a "4 bands for 4 bucks"
event that was well worth every penny. The range from mellow to
raging, costumes, fire eating, outta control consumption and and
all-round good time was had by all.
John
Parsons, leader of the local indie/roots Rule of
Thumb, blessed us with a solo acoustic set early in the
evening.
Experimental
pioneers of jan, HEAR, pushed the limits and increased
the temperature and average dew point in the lounge.
Schmaa!!
didn't let that train stall as they wrangled their groovy sounds
out of the ether.
Full
steam on to Gasragtown! The boys managed to put wigs and greasepaint
out of their minds and bash out the new Northern California sound
like nobody's business. And then some.
Sponsorship for this event changed abruptly in midstream
from Calistoga to Sierra Nevada. Some times, quality can not be
denied.
Thanks
to everyone who made this a great event, and shame upon the sheepish!!!!
Did
I mention there was fire!

Gasrag
Perform for Crowd Over 70,000
Throng
charges at the band, then quickly flees to the ocean
The annual
Bay to Breakers race participants were treated to a special performance
by San Francisco's own Gasrag. The crowd, which included over 40
Elvis Presleys, cheered and applauded as they ran past. Other familiar
faces were Captain Morgan (unofficial sponsor of the lead guitar
section) several geenies, a handful of salmon and 70,000 of the
worlds fairly good matelote.
Despite
reports of public nudity, open adult beverage consumption, and an
excess of adrenaline, no one was seriously injured. No word yet,
at this time, if anyone from the gasrag camp suffered from being
awake at such an early hour, but it's is believed that the cool,
cave-like shelter that the garage provided, along with aid from
unofficial gasrag sponsor Tecate, helped the band endure the rigors
of performing for such a large gathering.

Bottom of the Hill
Fire
Monday night, April 28, a fire broke out in the apartment above
Potrero Hill's Bottom
of the Hill night club.
The good news is they're already back in the swing
of things. |
